Services and rates

The Computer Guy performs virtually any break / fix repairs on any Microsoft and most *nix-based computers and servers, including Novell servers.  This includes hardware, software and networking problems.

All services are performed at an hourly rate, except promotions, or advance maintenance plans. The current rates are as follows:

Free diagnostics! We will diagnose your problem and give you an estimate for repairs. If you have The Computer Guy perform the repairs, the $35 diagnostic fee will be waived!

Typical services include:

Virus / Trojan / Malware removal, restore a system that “doesn’t boot” or presents other startup problems, performance tune-ups, internal component replacement / inspection, various network services including wireless LAN setup & security, remote monitoring solutions, and more.

New!!! - The Computer Guy now offers online backup! That's right, you've heard of Mozy, Carbonite, maybe iDrive... We've read the reviews and they aren't real pretty. Most of the complaints seem to revolve around selection choice for backup, time it takes to backup, how slow the computer is while backing up, and how hard it is to reach technical support. -All pretty important issues where your valuable data is concerned, don't you think?

We use an advanced backup solution developed by LogMeIn, an industry leader in remote control and backup technology. Your data is stored on a redundant RAID 5 disk array with virtually limitless capacity. In addition, The Computer Guy supports the system locally or through our remote support solution, so you know support is a phone call and a click away.

The Advance Maintenance Plan is a highly recommended investment in your computer! With the vast amount of Internet resources accessed daily by the majority of the population, almost every connected PC is exposed on a daily basis to a number of risks. Software gets installed almost by itself, and the computer begins to slow down, in general.

Instead of paying regular hourly rates when bad things happen, we visit the computer 4 times a year at a discounted, pre-paid bulk rate, and execute preventive measures and performance tuning, to keep your system malware-free and running at it's peak potential all through the year.

Maintenance visits also allow us to monitor system usage and predict failures before they occur, so you can continue to protect and optimize your technology investment.

Maintenance plans start at $300 for the first computer, $225 for the 2nd, and $175 for each computer added thereafter, with certain restrictions. Residential or Commercial.

Compared to regular hourly rate, the maintenance plans can save up to $200 per computer in support hours over the course of a year, with three or more computers covered.
